Saturday picks

Damn another quick post.

Smooth Mikey G hit me up about 15 minutes ago and said he likes the following early games:

Maryland (-2.5) vs. Minnesota
Ohio (+7) at Cincinnati
Buffalo (-6) at Rutgers
Purdue (+6.5) vs. Boston College

I too like Buffalo -6 on the road at Rutgers.

I also like Pittsburgh and their running game -3 at the rest but struggling North Carolina

Off one of the reddit boards I got the following tips:


Take the OVER in any Texas Tech or Mizzou (or KC Chiefs) game. Printing money.


It's early but I see some value.
Iowa + 3.5 over Wisconsin. I should pass it but Iowa is tough at night, they're getting points. However, Wisconsin is 0-3 ATS and Iowa 3-0 ATS. That should scare anyone to not take Iowa.

Baylor -7.5 over Kansas. The magic runs out.
South Carolina -2.5 at Vandy
Stanford -1 at Oregon


The Texas Tech-OSU over/under has actually went down two points to 76.5 so I'm going to check the weather there.

Early game leans 9/15

So a quick text message to Smooth Mikey G got a pretty short answer and his early picks are:

Miami at Toledo (+12.5)
Hawaii at Army (-6.5)
Florida State at Syracuse (+3.5)

I'm actually with him on Miami. Not so much on the others.

Vanderbilt (+14) seems like a nice play at Notre Dame. I don't trust Vandy's quarterback but I like their running game and defense. I think they can squeeze the ball and shorten the game in South Bend.

As for 3:30 games I like

South Florida (-12.5) vs. Illinois at Soldier Field
LSU at Auburn (-10.5)

So a few ideas for you there. Let's see what happens.

Early Saturday Plays

Lots of feedback on the noon games.

Smooth Mikey G likes Army (-7.5) and Duke (+2.5)

I liked Mississippi State (-9.5) on the road at Kansas State because I think Nick Fitzgerald will beat up that soft Wildcats defense.

But I had a dissenting opinion on Reddit:

"Sharply disagree. Fitzgerald may be rusty with no tune-up and he has to go to Manhattan for an opener. K-State nearly lost to South Dakota but they dominated the yardage. Turnovers were what almost killed them. Take the points. Snyder is a solid home underdog."

As for 3:30. Smooth Mikey G likes Nebraska (-3) and I liked Georgia at -9 but the line has climbed to -10 and I'm having second thoughts.

Nebraska-Colorado over (64.5) seems like a good bet.

Saturday evening plays...

...I finally got in touch with my boy Smooth Mikey G and he was pretty base at first:

"I like FIU, Troy and 'Bama"

Well the Troy game is 13 minutes old so forget that.

FIU (+13) vs. Indiana at 7 p.m.
Alabama (-24.5) vs. Louisville in Orlando at 8 p.m/

On my end I like FCS Nicholls State (+9) to pull the upset on Kansas tonight and I like Akron (+21.5) at Nebraska as well.

Smooth Mikey G said he likes the over (54) in that Nebraska-Akron game.

We should be done for the night but check back just in case. 

My Thursday Play

Purdue -1 vs. Northwestern

Basically a pick'em. I'm high on Purdue in Jeff Brohm's second season. I thought they were tough last year and he's had a good offseason to recruit well and develop some promising athletes. Northwestern is always going to be well coaches and relatively tough but I'm taking the small favorite on their field in an early Big Ten clash.

New Coach, New Program = Go with the 'Dog

Someone once told me never lay heavy money on a new coach with a new program. They haven't had time to figure out the nuances of someone else's team or quarterback. 

That would put the following games in play this weekend:

Northwestern State +46.5 vs. Texas A&M (this line has shrunk from 47.5 in the past hour)
UConn +24 vs. UCFCincinnati +16.5 vs UCLA
Texas San Antonio +18 at Arizona State
Akron +26 at Nebraska (line has increased from 25)

All the bets...all the time

Have you ever wondered where you could go to gather random betting information without hitting all these random backdoor sites and infecting your hard drive with all kinds of random cookies and STDs?

Well I'm going to try to use this site not just to add my own personal plays but to search the boards and the Twitters and see what others are doing and why they are doing it. Also ready to blow the whistle on the phonies....you know the ones that always brag about their wins but aren't man/woman enough ahead of time? Yeah those people. I'm calling them out too.
